Enlightenment can't decompress themes

other - Mar 13 2010
Question:Hi. I'm beginner at e17. I'm using FreeBSD. There is e17 ver 0.16.999.042 in ports, but I can't install any themes, icons, backgrounds from this site on it.
When I try to import theme, e says "Enlightenment was unable to import the theme ...". It seems edje_decc can't decompress the archive, it says "ERROR: cannot open some.edj".
What can I do with my problem? If I manualy compile e17 from svn would it help?

PS: Sorry for my english.

Answer:e17 uses .edj theme files for its own apps and all window borders. Find them on exchange.enlightenment.org or e17-stuff.org.
If you have gtk applications, everything inside is managed by gtk2 themes. You can't install / configure those with the e17 theme manager. I recommend lxappearance for that, or edit ~/.gtkrc-2.0 yourself (but I don't know how things work in BSD).

lxappearance does not provide a way to install these theme files. I have not found anything that does as of yet, so what is the purpose ? I am very confused about this .edj file. I have E17 why cant i install the friggin theme ?

why is everything so complicated ?
