Answer:Which splash screen? The GRUB (when you pick which OS to boot), the Usplash (the first splash screen), the Xsplash (in Ubuntu 9.10, it's the one when you log in), or the "Splash Screen"?

For GRUB there are tutorials, just google "how to change grub image".

For Usplash get a usplash theme from gnome-look or some place similar (it should be an .so file), then open startupmanager, go to "appearance" and "manage usplash" or something. Add the .so file and select it from the drop menu. You can make your own usplash, but it's a little hard. Google will work there, too.

For Xsplash you download an xsplash theme (will just be pictures, probably a zip or tar.gz file). Them you extract it into /usr/share/images/xsplash, overwriting files there.

I don't use the other kind of splash, so I'm not sure, but it shouldn't be too hard, I think.

I need more details. Which one do you mean, and what OS are you using?
