Thunderbird Contact Sync = one-way only (grrrr...)

ownCloud - Jul 7 2012
not answered
Question:ownCloud to Thunderbird contact sync = works!
Thunderbird to ownCloud contact sync = doesn't work

If I create a contact in OC it will sync to the TB address book which I've set up for syncing. However, if I then move a contact from a different TB address book into this 'sync book', it's not reflected in the associated book in OC.

I've tried "Synchronize" to no avail. I've tried "Replace to Server". That also doesn't work. However, if I try "Reset (Replace from Server)", all of my contacts in the TB address book disappear while the existing "cloud contacts" remain in the OC address book.

I have a feeling that this might have someting to do with the TB .mab files. Earlier today I had deleted my non-default TB address book files. Then, I created a new remote address book, populated it with a single contact, and... the contact showed up on the cloud as expected. However, if I tried to drag more contacts into this TB book, none were appearing in ownCloud.

I'm running TB 12.0.1 on Fedora 16 KDE and ownCloud 4.0.4
Yes, SoGo is installed.
'Read Only' in the TB address book is disabled
Calendar syncs work flawlessly as do webdav transfers from Dophin

Any comments/guidance/empathy?
