View modes still don't work.

KDE - Jun 24 2010
Question:Dolphin version 1.4 and Konq version 4.4.4

Still have to switch from detail mode to icon mode every time I enter a dir. It's supposed to be set to "remember each folder's view settings"

It's really annoying to have to switch to icon mode every single time I enter a pix directory. WTF???

Answer:In Dolphin preferences, you can choose the same behavior for all folders or folder to folder behavior but if you choose icon view in a folder(in the folder to folder behavior) it won't pass that option to the sub-folders. If you want parent folders to pass preferences to the sub-folders you should make a suggestion. It's a good one, in my opinion.

on the menu bar click view and scroll down to "adjust view properties". This opens a box where you can configure the view properties for the folder, including sub-folders. and apply the view properties that you are asking about.

openSUSE 11.3 RC1 with KDE4.5 RC1

View modes don't seem to work well, or at all, on VFAT file systems...Can't see how that makes sense, since my user id is the one that owns the file systems...
